Day 11

21CFDC9E-910F-44C6-9589-4D842B367CAFHere’s Here’s my sweet docile mumma looking like the real BOSS of the family. Kind heart, fierce mind, brave spirit. You were not BOSSY but you were the BOSS.

Day 10

Yet another experience you tried a couple of times was pottery. It came so naturally to you the few times you tried it. Maybe because it was a woman that discovered the art of pottery and rightly so. This art needs the gentle touch that shapes the clay just like a mother cares, pats and at the same time slaps the soft clay of childhood to build character, caliber, and future of a child. You were the potter par excellence for our family.

Day 9

1ACF5618-A970-4705-91E0-56772A742DC3While I am still in Canada and went for a hockey game tonight, I got reminded of this classic picture of the captain of Chicago Blackhawks. Hey that’s you Mumma!
As they say in hockey and in life, you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take. You didn’t miss any, took all that you could.

Day 8

CAAAB7CC-CA6A-4604-8A60-2BAFD33CD750Looking through my archives of pictures of you I think I could follow on my thread from yesterday for many days to come on how you participated in life and didn’t just stand by as it passed by. We have so many cherished memories of your adventures. You lived your life to taste distinctive experiences to the fullest. You reached out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experiences. You didn’t just exist, you lived, you explored, you thrived and you challenged yourself all the time. Here is one picture from the time when we all went dogsledding and you not only survived but enjoyed the full ride with the Huskies in the bitter cold at minus 35 degrees. Kudos to you! You are an inspiration that says life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all.

Day 7

A23AA7EB-D261-42A4-A327-524A3CB35AFFIn the words of Buddha, living a passionate life has nothing to do with its length and everything is to do with its width.
You always tried to participate in life instead of just watching it pass you by. You stepped through new doors each time an opportunity came up and most of the time you found something amazing on the other side. We loved you and will always love you for keeping your spirit free and being open to whatever life presented. The measure of intelligence is the ability to change and you were an epitome of flexibility adapting to new experiences every day.

Day 6

64C556EA-F287-42B5-B4C8-875DBBA7A701.jpegToday we bid a final goodbye to you physically by uniting your soul with the waters of Lake Ontario in Canada🇨🇦, your and our second home 🏘. Things end but memories last forever. Memories of time with you in Canada warm us up from inside. At the end of everything it is memories that keep alive and are a way to hold on to things you love and we love you a lot.

Day 5

IMG_2407.jpgMumma, you were named Guddi (a Doll) by your parents as you looked like a doll. We all have an everlasting memory of your beauty and grace coupled with your gentle demeanour that you held until the last day of your life. Missing your smile so much..

Day 4

IMG_2384.jpgYou were a mom to me since the time I first met you decades ago and you took me for a daughter. This was even before you or I knew that I would be your daughter-in-law someday. I have adored you since then and will continue to do so for the time to come. Remembering you today for all the warmth showered by you.

Day 2

631E2166-6946-491E-94AC-971CE8D0CAD0Mummy, I knew you will check your Facebook,😜, loved to see your comment today.. and see internet works in heaven too.. For the past many days I have been thinking about the leaps and bounds of courage you had throughout your life and more so at the end. It reminds me of the momentous episode when you accidentally got off at Lome airport instead of Accra. The way you handled the situation at the airport in a francophone country (without a Togo visa or knowing the language) to get back on the flight was simply commendable. Glad we did not lose you to Togo then, we got to enjoy your company for many more years after this..
